The second-year students of the Executive MBA program at AUEB traveled to Nafplio for an educational excursion featuring guest speaker Mr. Kolovos, former CEO of Edenred.

The session proved to be an extremely enriching experience for all participants, as Mr. Kolovos shared insights from his “life journey” at Edenred, spanning over 13 years. Through his honest, direct, and well-founded responses to the many questions posed by students, he captivated the audience.

The visit concluded with a discussion and exchange of perspectives on the learning experience provided by the Executive MBA program and its impact on the students’ professional growth.

Another great graduation ceremony took place in the ceremonial hall of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Graduates of the 23rd cohort celebrated their achievement alongside close friends and family, officially joining the community of Executive MBA alumni.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Professor Konstantinos Drakos, Vice-Rector for Financial Planning and Infrastructure, and Professor Vasilis Papadakis, Director of the Executive MBA program.

On Monday, February 14, 2022, the first online meeting of the year took place between the Executive MBA’s Special Interdepartmental Committee and the External Advisory Board (Business Advisory Council).

The purpose of the meeting was to update the Advisory Board on the significant changes to the program, as well as its recent achievements. Among these were the notable increase in applications over the past three years and the successful re-accreditation of the program by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

The majority of the meeting focused on discussing ideas and proposals from the Board members regarding:

• Enrichment of the curriculum,
• Improvement of program operations, and
• Increasing the program’s active impact on the Greek business community and society at large.

Professor Vasilis Papadakis, Director of the Executive MBA, thanked the members, emphasizing:
"The Advisory Board has consistently supported the Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business in many ways. Members highlighted the program’s importance for senior and executive-level professionals and provided invaluable advice for its further development and for addressing the challenges of tomorrow."

The Executive MBA would like to thank Mr. Andreas Zarras for the highly valuable seminar he delivered on Saturday, May 8th, 2021, to the students and alumni of the Executive MBA.

The aim of the seminar was to present the highly relevant topic of Artificial Intelligence and how it can help modern organizations make more rational decisions. Applications of Artificial Intelligence in marketing and sales operations were showcased, and participants had the opportunity to see how important analytical techniques—such as sales data mining, market basket analysis, and churn prediction—can be applied in practice.

On Wednesday, April 14th, 2021, the Executive MBA organized yet another specialized and highly valuable seminar for its students and alumni. More than 200 participants supported this new initiative of the Executive MBA – Executive Leadership Seminars!

The blockchain market, mainly through Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, is becoming an increasingly important pillar of the financial sector. To fully recognize the value of blockchain technology and its potential impact, it is essential to understand a series of key topics, such as the concept of decentralization, consensus mechanisms, incentives, the notion of cryptography, and peer-to-peer systems.

We would like to warmly thank the seminar speakers, Professor Konstantinos Drakos, Professor of Finance and Vice Rector of AUEB, as well as Dr. Antonis Ballis, PhD in Finance at AUEB, for their highly engaging and insightful presentation.

Within the framework of the elective course Human Resource Management Systems, taught by Professor of Management Dimitris Bourantas, Executive MBA students explored the new challenges that organizations face in Human Resource Management. The course covered recruitment, performance evaluation systems, compensation and incentives, and career planning through staff development.

A significant part of the course included guest speakers, professionals from large multinational and domestic companies with expertise and experience in human capital management.

In March 2021, the Executive MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business organized the first in a series of specialized and highly beneficial seminars for its students and alumni. On Tuesday, May 7, the EXECUTIVE MBA of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the first Executive MBA established in Greece, celebrated its 20 years of operation with a commemorative event at the Athens Concert Hall.

Graduates, together with their professors, celebrated the program's achievements, reminisced about the past, and planned for its future. Among the program’s significant accomplishments are its four-year accreditation by the international organization Association of MBAs (AMBA), as well as its 30th place ranking in Western Europe in its category, according to the international Eduniversal ranking.

The 24th Graduation Ceremony of the Executive MBA program at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) took place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the University’s Ceremony Hall.

Graduates of the 24th cohort celebrated alongside family and friends, officially joining the alumni community of the program.

Opening remarks were delivered by Professor Vasileios Vasdekis, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Personnel, and Professor Vasilis Papadakis, Director of the Executive MBA program.

The honored guest of this year’s ceremony was Mr. Pisimisis, Management Consultant at SOCIETE BIC and former Chairman & CEO of BIC VIOLEX (2008–2023), who shared insights from his extensive international experience with the graduates.
